Good morning from Eugene, Oregon! I love this place. I love the cool crisp mornings that turn into warm afternoons. And I love that even in July, there’s a light frost on the car windows first thing in the morning.
It’s been so long since I’ve spent a full week here. I had forgotten a lot of the intangible charms of this place. It’s a sleepy, slow town. I know so many people here. There’s been coffee dates, dinner parties, and good conversation. And I got to catch up with my dearest friends that I haven’t been able to see for years. And Nancy and I even made a batch of raspberry-blueberry jam one evening (recipe to come shortly!).
Truthfully, I worked nearly the whole time I was here. But we found a few moments toward the end of our trip to spend quality time with the people we love.
So now, back to Texas! We’re just about to jump in the car and get up to Portland for our flight to Austin.
Although I’m definitely sad to leave home (I always am), this week is off to a great start already. I hope the same for all of you!
