I love cake. I mean, who doesn’t? Chocolate cake. Vanilla cake with raspberry filling. And my new favorite: tres leches.
I once heard one of my favorite wedding photographers jokingly say, “I’m just in it for the cake!” And it made me laugh a little because until that moment, I never realized that, hey! one of the perks of this job is CAKE! I mean, seriously, why hadn’t I thought about that until that moment?
So you can imagine the incredible delight of discovering that Karina’s wedding at Texas Old Town had chocolate bacon cupcakes. Yes. Chocolate and bacon. All together in one, delicious cupcake.
Todd and I got so excited about the possibility of these cupcakes that Karina and her family set aside a few just for us.
In the end, Todd and I packed up our gear, took down our lights, and said good-bye to everyone . . . but totally forgot the cupcakes! 🙂
So now, over a month later, I’m still pining after those chocolate bacon cupcakes. The good news: I found out that Karina ordered her cake and cupcakes from Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop on South First . . . and that the bakery is only a 10-minute walk from my house! What?! I’m definitely stopping by next week to get a cupcake. They have some amazing flavors, like Peanut Butter Cup and Blackberry Lemonade.
