I just want to take a moment to acknowledge, and thank, all of my clients who’ve helped me launch my business. When I first started shooting weddings in 2012, I never dreamed of being where I am today. So much has happened, so quickly.
And it’s because of you — all of you — who’ve put your trust in me. Today, I’m thankful and excited to actually be able to say that my 2015 calendar is already filling up. I never dreamed in 2012 that I could look into the future and feel a sense of excitement and certainty.
To all of you who’ve worked with me in the past, and to all of you who will work with me in the future: Thank you for sharing your lives with me.
Yesterday, I went to my UPS mail box. And I received my first ever gift from a client! She sent me a box of chocolates from Hawaii!! And inside the envelope were two cards, each separately sealed. One for Justin. One for me. I nearly cried.
They say that if you want to be the best you can be, then you have to give your life over to your job. And that’s exactly what I do. It’s why I take weeks of practice and preparation before each wedding I shoot. It’s why I get up at 5:00 am and start replying to client emails. I do all this because I want to give my clients the best memories I am capable of.
And yesterday, when I opened the box of chocolates, my heart melted (well, so did the chocolate — it’s only like a 100 million degrees hot in Texas right now). But I knew, with that box of chocolates, that my bride from last March was as thankful for me as I am for her. And that is what keeps me going. Keeps me practicing. Keeps me on my toes to keep giving my life for this job.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Justin and I are headed down to the Santa Monica Pier. Then?! Back to the airport. I get to document a wonderful friend’s wedding this next week.
Bon Week-end! xo
