Fine Art Wedding Photographer

The day began with wind and rain. A drive up to Houston. And butterflies in my stomach.

In the short span of 4 weeks, Rocio and Jesse became our friends. And I’d like to think,
our comrades in this little thing called life. When they said “I do,” I was more than their
photographer for the day. I congratulated them in my heart and I sincerely know, in my gut,
that these two fit together just perfectly.

The whole day passed: getting ready; ceremony; family photos; amazing food; dances and toasts
and smiles and tears.

And after it all, Rocio and Jesse invited Justin and me back to St Regis Hotel and they
let me take another hour just for bride and groom portraits. One whole hour. And this —
this portrait — is a glimpse into our final session of the day.

It’s the result of the trust Rocio gave me. She could have thought I was crazy when
I said, “Hey, sit here, in front of these doors . . . on this raggedy old chair . . .”
But she didn’t think I was crazy. Instead, she leaned into the moment and focused on
Jesse. She forgot about me and let me craft an image that reflects the two of them, the
timelessness of their love, and their classic style.

Thank you, Jesse and Rocio, for hiring me as your photographer, but more importantly, for
inviting Justin and me into your hearts and lives.

Congratulations, Rocio + Jesse!
